The MCGSS is the voice of graduate students on the Macdonald campus. Our primary objective is to provide a positive and enjoyable studying environment for graduate students on campus. We are for students, run voluntarily by students. There are eight executive members on the MCGSS council including environmental advisor. Elections for executive positions (if required) are held immediately after the Annual General Meeting in April, and are open to all graduate students on the Mac campus. MCGSS brings forward the concerns of graduate students at all levels of administration. We are closely affiliated with PGSS which represents all graduate students at McGill University, in terms of issues, events and administrative concerns. MCGSS also organizes many activities, including BBQ, trivia nights, bagel breakfasts, white water rafting, day trips to Ottawa for Canada Day and Quebec City for Carnival, skiing and of course, the sugar shack! A lounge for graduate students, located in R3-046, is equipped with a TV, radio, microwave, refrigerator, comfy couches, and various information/brochures relevant to grads. Macdonald Campus is a small, close-knit community that continues to grow. we hope to always maintain a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere while working hard to tackle the issues concerning graduates.
