“If you are thinking 1 year ahead…sow seeds.

If you are thinking 10 years ahead…plant a tree.

If you are thinking 100 years ahead…educate the people.”

Welcome to the webspace of Green Drinks Ste. Anne.  Hopefully this website will provide you with some of the information to reduce your ecological footprint.  The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change stated in 2001 that “source reduction is undisputedly the most environmentally sound and cost effective tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”  This website provides you with information on recycling, recipes for easy-to-make toxic cleaners, a three minute questionnaire designed to calculate your carbon imprint, etc… Information on composting is available on the Gorilla Compost web space. And all this is done in a fun and interesting way.  We encourage you to attend some of our activities that occur throughout the year to view a film or see a speaker on a topic of environmental interest.  Free refreshments are always served.  Green Drinks has over 600 chapters around the world and allows people with an interest in the environment to meet and network with each other.  The atmosphere is very easygoing which allows people to mix very easily.  We are always looking for people to help us with various projects.

“If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them more than miracles of technology.  We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it.”

-President Lyndon B. Johnson (Upon signing the Wilderness Act, 1964).
